Brandon Cruz was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas has been with UTSA for over 5 years and has served in multiple areas across university divisions including: Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment, where he worked with first-time freshman and transfer students by counseling them on their pathway into UTSA and the First-Year Experience, where he supervised students that serve as peer mentors to first-year students at UTSA. He earned his M.Ed. in Educational Leadership & Policy Students from UTSA in 2016 and is a proud alumni. Brandon is passionate about serving others and is excited to be in the First-Generation & Transfer Student Center. “This is an opportunity to build upon the great work that others have done thus far, now it is the centers job to further define the culture of first-generation and transfer students on campus.” He enjoys spending time with his family and especially his fur baby Cinnamon. You can find him watching all the Superhero movies or eating Chipotle, with guac on the side.

Crystal Martinez is from San Antonio, TX where she attended Business Careers High School/Holmes High School. She attended Texas State University and graduated in May 2015 with her Bachelors in Exercise Sports and Science with a concentration in Communication Studies. She has worked with kids from K-12 as she substituted for several districts such as NISD, JISD, and SAISD. Her passion is helping students succeed in their goals and achieving their dreams. She graduated with her Master’s degree in May 2017 from UTSA in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with a concentration in Higher Education Administration. She has previously worked at UTSA as the Business Scholars Program Coordinator and OSU as the Coordinator for Hispanic/Latino Affairs. She loves working with young adults and helping them utilize resources in order to achieve their goals. She is excited about the opportunity to work with first-generation and transfer students and hopes to have a positive influence on students. For fun she loves attending concerts, working out, spending time with her dog Toby, and likes to eat Hot Cheetos.
